Both constant voltage and constant current driver are viable options for LED light source power supply, the difference is the way the provide power. The led driver is the driving force that provides and regulates the necessary power to ensure that the LEDs operate in a safe and consistent manner. What is led constant voltage driver?
Constant voltage driver designed for a single direct current (DC) output voltage. The most common constant voltage driver are 12Vdc or 24Vdc. LED lights rated for constant voltage usually specify the amount of input voltage required for proper operation.
A constant voltage power supply accepts standard line voltage (120-277Vac). This is the type of power usually output from a wall socket in your home. The constant voltage driver switches this AC voltage (VAC) to a low DC voltage (VDC). The driver will always maintain a constant voltage no matter what current load is applied. What is led constant current driver?
Constant current led driver are designed for a specified range of output voltage and fixed output current (mA). LEDs rated to operate on a constant current driver require a specified current supply, usually measured in milliamps (mA) or amps (A). These drivers vary the voltage along the electronic circuit, keeping the current constant throughout the LED system. Constant current driver is the best way to driver high power LEDs as it maintains consistent brightness across all series LEDs.
